The coordinator of the group, Miss Vanessa Chenbers, disclosed this while donating relief materials to some of the IDPs at the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, popularly known as EYN.
”We have not less than 35, 000 persons that have been displaced by the ongoing insurgency in the North-East scattered all over Plateau.
”The condition of these IDPs is so pathetic that it needs the urgent attention of groups and public-spirited individuals to help in ameliorating their suffering.
”A lot of them ran away from their homes at night leaving behind all their belongings, and so they need all kinds of assistance, no matter how small,” Chenbers said.

She said her group which dealt more in music had in December 2014 organised a concert to raise funds and items for the IDPs.
She said the event was also meant to create awareness on the existence of the vulnerable and less privileged in Plateau.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that items donated to the IDPs include: bags of maize, bags of rice, some clothes and beverages.
Recieving the items on behalf of the displaced persons, the Reverend in charge of the Church, Adamu Bello, thanked the organisation for the gesture and called on individuals and groups to also contribute. (NAN)
