ABUJA – The President of the Senate, David Mark, on Saturday in Abuja, urged members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to work hard to guarantee victory at the various stages of the elections.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
Addressing PDP stakeholders from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Benue, Nasarawa, Kogi, [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]Kwara, Niger and Plateau states he however cautioned members to steer clear of electoral malpractices.
“We want to win convincingly at all levels; there will be no room for any manipulations.
“We as members of the PDP, will not rig; we will not allow opposition parties to rig us out; we have [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]enough evidence to show to the electorate why the PDP remains the preferred choice in 2015,” he said.
He told the members not to take anything for granted, just as he stressed the need for them to reach out to the electorate ahead of the polls.
He acknowledged the challenges posed by the opposition parties, but stated that PDP had lived up to its [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”8″]
promise of delivery of dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
He listed the many achievement of PDP to include the resuscitation of railway transportation, improved road networks, modernized airports, development of rural areas and the boosting of the Agriculture sector.
He said other achievements were enhanced power supply, political stability, adherence to the principles of rule of law and human rights, as well as freedom of expression.
He said that all those were positive indications that President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration would do more if re-elected.
In their separate remarks, governors of Benue, Gabriel Suswam, Plateau’s Jonah Jang and Niger’s Babangida Aliyu said that they would work hard to ensure the victory of PDP in the zone. (NAN)
