Goodluck campaign team due Makurdi Thursday

MAKURDI – President Goodluck Jonathans re-election campaign team will arrive in Makurdi on [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”8″]
Thursday, media aide to Gov Gabriel Suswam has said.
The aide, Mr Cletus Akwaya, told journalists in Makurdi on Saturday that the visit was to unveil the [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]President’s re-election programme to the people.
He said it was also aimed at soliciting support for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]for the 2015 general elections in the state.
Akwaya appealed to the people to mobilise support for the visit, describing Jonathan as a peoples [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]President.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Benue has been a PDP state for the past 16 years.
NAN further reports that the party had recently suffered series of defections of some of its founding members.
They included former Board of Trustees (BOT) member, Sen. Barnabas Gemade and former Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Samuel Ortom, and Sen. George Akume. (NAN)
