secondary schools was lack of adequate monitoring.
“We have told the principals that when we are not there, they are our representatives and should make[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10”] sure that the teachers are on their toes.
“Responsible teachers do not have to wait for the principal to tell them their duties since they are [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10”]sufficiently trained, experienced and should be dedicated to their duties.
Also speaking with NAN, the Secretary of the commission, Mrs Tolase Adediran, stressed the importance of the tours.
“During our tours, we discovered that teaching and learning were going on smoothly and the teachers were not abdicating in their responsibilities, with the exception of just a few who were absent due to [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10”]maternity leave.
“It is during these inspection visits that most of the problems of these teachers are made known because we sit down and talk to them.
“The teachers, especially the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) teachers, were requesting for the result of the recruitment exercise conducted by TESCOM which they took part in,” she said.
She said the results of the recruitment exercise would be released soon while credit would be given to the administration for its efforts.
“We don’t joke with education in Ondo State; as you all know, we are not owing our teachers any salary arrears.
“Teachers who deserve promotion have been given; so the teachers need to reciprocate this gesture by giving the students their best,” she said. (NAN)
