Aso, gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday at Izombe, Oguta Local Government Area of the state.
“Recommending creation of an additional state in the South-East is a sign that delegates at the confab really want to right the wrongs done in Nigeria in the past.
“It is really painful that only the South-East zone has five states while another has seven and the rest have six each; the imbalance has continued to affect development in the zone,’’ he said.
The royal father also called on the state government and oil companies operating in the area, to assist in developing the communities by providing employment for the youths, as well as social amenities.
“The environmental challenges we face as a result of oil exploitation and exploration, in addition to the problems of youths’ restiveness, are quite enormous’’, Aso said. (NAN)
