Akadiri told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Okitipupa that the numbers of unclaimed corpses was more than the capacity of the hospital morgue.
The CMD said that the unclaimed corpses were mostly of accidents victims who their families refused to claim.
He said the over-congestion of the morgue had its effects on the hospital’s finances as several embalmment chemicals were bought in a bid to curtail outbreak of diseases.
“ The state government had to come to our aid by organising mass burial for these unclaimed corpses to decongest our morgue,’’ Akadiri said.
He urged the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and other traffic officials to always enlighten motorists on speeding and other road vices in order to reduce road accidents on the highway. (NAN)
