Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Peoples Democratic Party  has thrown its weight behind the five-point demand of the #EndSARS protesters.]

This is also as the party has said that a comprehensive police and policing reforms would be an answer to the police brutality.

The National Chairman of the party, Chief Uche Secondus disclosed this on Thursday while briefing the nesmen after the National Working Committee meeting with its Senate caucus at the National Assembly.

“We held very useful discussions and raised some critical issues of national interest.

“We believe that some of them are for the consumption of some senators and our leaders in the senate, so that is the position.

On whether the party discussed issue of President Buhari’s nomination of one of his aides as National Commissioner of Independent National Electoral Commissioner, Secondus said, “all those were discussed and I believe that the senate has dealt with the issue of nomination, so we don’t need to emphasize on it.

“We also discussed the issue of #EndSARS for SWAT. We believe that comprehensive police and policing reforms would be an answer to the police brutality. We also endorse the 5-points raised by the protesters as a political party. They are Nigerians and we also appeal to the government that adequate compensations be paid to the families of those killed, he said.

“I believe that when that is done and comprehensive reform is done and rule of law as it pertains to criminal justice system in our country where everybody would be assured of protection of lives and property, that is the way to go in our country, that will bring sanity in our country and all of these will be a thing of the past.
