We will reclaim Zamfara for PDP, Yuguda assures

Gusau (Zamfara)-  Amb. Bashir Yuguda, the Zamfara State Coordinator of the PDP presidential campaign, on Tuesday said that the electorate in the state would not only vote for Jonathan /Sambo ticket in Feb. 14 presidential election, but would reclaim the state from the APC.

Yuguda gave the assurance at the PDP presidential campaign held in Gusau, Zamfara,

“Your Excellency, you are in Zamfara, Zamfara is for you, Zamfara is for PDP and the people are here to affirm what I’m saying.

“In 2011 we lost and we have not given up hope and we are going to reclaim Zamfara for PDP.

“Zamfara is a state of peace, Zamfara and `Zamfarawa’ are peace loving people.

“But, your Excellency, we live in a hostile environment, the government in power is hostile to us, but, our people are still peaceful.

“Your Excellency, as a government you have done everything as a leader for us in Zamfara state,’’ he said.

The coordinator, who is also the Minister of State for Finance, said Zamfara would forever remain grateful to President Jonathan-led Federal Government for establishing a ‘’brand new university’ in the state.

Yuguda, who maintained that farming was key to the people of Zamfara, commended the PDP-led Federal Government for providing agricultural incentives to farmers in the state.

“One of the greatest things you can do to empower a generation, to empower Nigeria, to empower the future, is education. You have given us a brand new university. We are eternally grateful.

“In Zamfara, we have a saying that farming is our pride. Your Excellency, you have done everything for us in the area of agriculture.

“Zamfara farmers are very grateful, Zamfara farmers are every day talking about all the good things you have done for them,’’ he said.

In their remarks, Vice-President Namadi Sambo and the National Coordinator of the PDP Presidential campaign, Sen. Ahmadu Ali, enjoined the electorate in the state to vote en mass for all PDP candidates in the Feb. 14 and Feb. 28 general elections.

They alerted the people of the activities of some politicians who were fond of using primordial sentiments to deceive them.

According to Sambo, who spoke in Hausa language, Nigeria is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious nation and hence, nobody should use ethnicity or religion to deceive the people during the forthcoming elections.(NAN)
