NSE market indicators dip further by 0.24%

LAGOS — The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday dipped further by 0.24 per cent, following sustained huge profit takings by investors.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the market capitalisation which opened at N9.912[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″] trillion, lost N24 billion, to close at N9.888 trillion.
Also, the All-Share index lost 71.11 points or 0.24 per cent to close at 29,687.93 points, compared with the 29,759.04 points posted on Wednesday.
A breakdown of the price movement chart showed that Mobil topped the losers chart with N7.06, to [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”8″]
close at N150 per share.
Guinness dipped N2.98 to close at N127.02, while Presco lost N1.48 to close at N28.22 per share.
International Breweries lost N1.09 to close at N20.80 and Okomu Oil depreciated by 60k to close at N23.30 per share.
Conversely, Lafarge Wapco led the gainers’ table with N1, to close at N82 per share.
Flour Mills came second with a gain of 99k to close at N36.99, while Union Dicon share price appreciated by 57k to close at N13.80 per share.
Dangote Cement rose by 48k to close at N155.50, while Oando garnered 36k to close at N16.50 per share.
Some market analysts attributed the sustained sell pressure by investors to uncertainties surrounding the 2015 general elections, the fall in crude oil price and exit of foreign investors.
However, the volume of shares traded increased to 410.59 million shares worth N2.47 billion, transacted in 4,030 deals.
This was in contrast with the 229.48 million shares valued N3.29 billion shares exchanged in 3,901 deals on Wednesday.
Mutual Benefits Assurance was the most traded equity with an exchange of 141.53 million shares worth N70.77 million.
It was trailed by FCMB which accounted for 59.59 million shares valued N122.33 million, while FBN Holdings sold 28.42 million shares worth N213 million.
Access Bank accounted for 28.34 million shares valued N142 million and Continental Insurance sold 16.06 million shares valued N14.77 million. (NAN)
