Lagos- The Nigeria Baseball and Softball Association (NBSA) says its Technical Commission Committee would be inaugurated on Jan. 30.
The Association’s Secretary, Kehinde Laniyan, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos that the inauguration would hold at the National Stadium, Lagos.
“This is a very vital stage in the development of baseball and softball in Nigeria and the executive board of the NBSA has appointed notable people who are very conversant with the sport into the committee.
“The inauguration on Jan. 30 is to formalise the committee and they are expected to immediately commence work, to revamp baseball and softball in Nigeria,’’ he said.

The scribe added that a seminar would be organised on Jan. 31, for NBSA officials at the same venue.
According to him, the seminar is designed to improve the standard of the game, as well as create awareness for the sport at the grassroots.
“The NBSA planned the seminar having in mind that the technical department is the heartbeat of sport organizations and to that it should be adequately equipped.
“The seminar will examine the existing technical structure, improve their capacities through training and have informed technical officials in all primary schools in the country,’’ he added. (NAN)
