MALAMMADORI (JIGAWA) – A total of 41, 755 children will be immunised against the wild polio virus in Malammadori Local Government Area of Jigawa in the ongoing round of polio immunisation, an official, has said.
Malam Yusuf Ibrahim, the local council Manager of the National Programme on Immunisation said while supervising the exercise in Malammadori that, the children would also be immunised against the five [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]child killer diseases.
He said that 50, 000 doses of Oral Polio Vaccines had been supplied to the area by the National Primary Health care Development Agency to facilitate the exercise.
Also commenting, Muhammad Maigatari, the Director, Water and Sanitation for the area, said the council had provided candies to woo children to accept the polio vaccine.
Maigatari said that the council had also provided other logistics, and engaged community and religious leaders to mobilise parents and allow their children to be immunised.
He urged parents in the area to present their children for immunisation to ensure total eradication of the disease. (NAN)
