LAGOS – The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN)[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
on Tuesday urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
to issue Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to eligible voters that
registered in 2014.
Rev. Felix Omobude, the President of the church, who made the plea while
addressing newsmen in Lagos, said that INEC should also allow
Nigerians displaced from crisis areas to vote at their new locations.
Omobude spoke through Pastor Austen Ukachi, the Chairman, Local
Organising Committee of PFN on the 13th National Biennial Conference
of PFN slated for Feb. 4 to Feb. 6 in Lagos.

“We are using the opportunity of this news conference to appeal to
the head of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, and members of his team to act
in the fear of God, in the interest of the nation and posterity, as
they conduct the elections.
“In this regard, we call on them to issue the remaining PVCs to the
rightful owners so as to avoid disenfranchising eligible voters.
“And also to consider registering those who are eligible to vote
during this election.
“Lots of people are moving from the North to the South out of the
anxiety of the national elections, there should be a way, people who
moved should be given the opportunity to use their PVCs to vote
wherever they move to.’’
