Abuja- UnityKapital Assurance Plc. on Tuesday announced that in 2015 it would introduce Microinsurance Product to service low-income people such as artisans and petty traders.
The acting Managing Director of the company, Mr Olugbenga Olasogba, announced this at a Sensitisation Walk organised by the company in Abuja.
Olasogba said the product would be unveiled before the end of the first quarter of 2015.
“This year, 2015, UnityKapital has a product we are trying to introduce into the market; it will soon be launched; it is called `Micro Insurance Product’.
“This product caters for the low-income earners, artisans, petty traders and it is one of the products we are planning to roll out before the end of the first quarter of this year because the bulk of the insuring public falls under this cadre.
“And that is why we have seen that it is a good market for us and at the same time we can help the public in this direction.“

As a way of creating jobs, Olasogba said the company would engage the services of agents to sell some of its products.
He said, “We are going to recruit as many agents as possible across the country in selling most of our products.
“It is not going to be our staff alone; we have people, who are out there and who are well connected and are closer to the grassroots. We will partner with them to sell the product.“
The company’s acting Executive Director, Operations, Mr Micheal Dogo, said though the company had adequate resources, it had not been able to project its potential in the industry properly.
Dogo said the company organised the Walk in order to showcase what it had to offer in the market.
He said the company planned to grow its shareholders’ fund in 2015.(NAN)
