Ibile Games: Tennis enters final stage

Lagos- Augustine Stephen of Lafiaji High School, lagos Island on Wednesday qualified for the finals of the senior boys tennis event of the ongoing Lagos state Secondary Schools Sports Festival (Ibile Games).

Stephen defeated Kazeem Fadipe of Ireti Senior Grammer School 4-0, 4-0.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the tennis event of the games is taking plat at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park.

Michael Osewa of Branded College, Yaba defeated Ekong Ezekiel,of Okesuna Senior High School , Lagos Island 4-0,2-2 (rtd) to also qualify for the final.

In the junior boy’s category, Elisha Olowogbile of Precious Gems will play Abdul-Ganiyu Kehinde of University of Lagos staff school in the final on Thursday.

To qualify for the final, Olowogbile defeated Emmanuel Akinbuwa, of Precious Gems 4-1,4-1 , while Abdul-Ganiyu beats Stanley Nwoghe, of Helper International High School 5-4(3), 4-1.

In the girl’s senior, Mariam Alli-Balogun of Aunty Ayo Girls High School, Ikoyi defeated Venus Ubiebi, of Unique Breed College 4-1, 4-1 to qualify to the final.

While in the junior girl’s category, Quadre Oyinlomo of Maryville Secondary School would face Marylove Edwards of Royal Hall School, Ikeja in the final.

Oyinlomo, who thrashed Susan Biney, of Aunty Ayo International School 4-0, 4-0 to qualify and Edwards defeated Sekinat Olarewaju, of Seylek College 4-0, 4-0.

The duo of Alli-Balogun and Tosin Asogba of Wahan Folawiyo Senior High School, Ikoyi defeated Jumai Muhammed and Ubiebi of Okesuna Senior Secondary School 4-2,4-2 to qualify to the final double event.

The pair of Muhammed and Ubiebi will face Zainab Rasak of Okesuna Secondary School and Raheemot Yusuf, of Wahab Folawiyo Senior High School in the final. (NAN)
