He said that there was no way he could support Boko Haram to destroy a state like Adamawa which voted massively for him and PDP in 2011.
He wondered if those indulging in such accusation feels that it was to his advantage or disadvantage.
Jonathan spoke at the Ribadu Square, Yola, Adamawa State while addressing Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) supporters who thronged the place give him and his entourage a rousing welcome.
He assured the people that the Federal Government was committed to getting rid off Boko Haram out of the state.
According to him, “Before this time, five local government areas were under the control of the Boko Haram. So many people lost their lives, not to talk about poverty. As we are talking today, Michika local government has been recaptured by our galant soldiers.
“All of us here feel so burdened by the excesses of Boko Haram. That’s why when some time ago someone informed me that on the social media, some people are insinuating that the President is even behind Boko Haram as a political tool, I said Allah should forgive the person.
“Because there is no human being who will be the President of his country that will want to bring terror to his own country; not even one, even if you’re the most stupid person on earth, you won’t even do it.
“Because I know the burden I carry because of Boko Haram; I know the kind of conversations I’m having with other world leaders; so if any human being will be so heartless to even insinuate that the President will bring Boko Haram to Adamawa then ask him why should I bring Boko Haram to Adamawa State for political purposes?
“In 2011, I had more than 65 percent votes from Adamawa; in terms of total number of votes, I had 2/3 the votes I had in Bayelsa from Adamawa. Why will I want to reduce that number of votes for political reasons?
“How can any mad person insinuate that the President or Presidency is supporting Boko Haram. Is it to my own detriment or for my own good?”
He expressed deep appreciation to the people, adding however that whenever he is in Adamawa, he has heavy heart because of the excesses of Boko Haram.
He explained that why he supported Ribadu as the governorship candidate was because Ribadu has unique attributes and had international connections that would help to defeat Boko Haram.
The President also paid homage to the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha in his palace.
In his address, the Vice President Namadi Sambo said the President has approved the completion of Kiri and Jedah dams and approved the dredging of River Benue to facilitate the construction of River port in Yola.
He assured that everything was being done to end the insecurity problems.
He said it was a suicidal proposal that General Buhari would led the war against Boko Haram if elected.
The National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu announced that the party had lifted the suspension of the state party executives and that of the former National Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Bamangar Turkur.
The PDP national chairman, who also introduced the party’s governorship candidate, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, observed that the people had from time to time demonstrated their love for the party.
He said the election is about what PDP had done for the state and not what other parties are promising to do as PDP had already accomplished a lot and would do more if voted for.
Ribadu noted that the PDP is fair, just and gives everyone equal opportunities.
He noted that the President is a good man and humble one, adding that the President had given the state what other administrations had not given to the state.
He assured that the people would give Jonathan a Valentine gift by voting 100 percent for him because he is doing well.
Senate President, Senator David Mark noted that the rumour that Adamawa State is not PDP state had been proved to be wrong going by the crowd that had come to welcome them.
He urged them to transform this into voting the President and PDP in February.
He noted that the President is very passionate with education and had cited Federal University of Technology in Adamawa as well as Air Force College.
He urged them to vote for Jonathan, the PDP senators and Nuhu Ribadu.
The Director-General of the Presidential campaign organisation, Sen. Ahmadu Ali noted that there was no reason for the state to change its voting pattern because the party has been in control of the state from inception and had governed well.
He said what they had come to do was to thank the people for their support and for their future supports.
Minister of women of Affairs, Hajiya Zainab Maina noted that Jonathan had accomplished a lot for the women folk and assured that the women would vote for him.
On his part, Senator Jibrin Aminu noted that PDP is the party of the state, adding that some of the things having in the country are normal because he has granted the people freedom of speech to express their opinions.
Former Governor Umaru Fintiri noted that the President has emancipated the country through his transformation programmes.
He assured that on February 14, the state would vote for the PDP to continue with the transformation as the people are proud of him.
Governor of Adamawa State, Bala James Ngilari noted that the state is home of the PDP and that they have no intention whatsoever to change.
He recalled that with what had happened people thought that the members would diminish.
He said those who had metamorphosed into another party that they are still returning back, assuring that what the task before them is to deliver the state to the PDP.
The zonal coordinator of the Presidential Campaign organisation for North-East zone and Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo affirmed that Adamawa State is PDP.
