MINNA – The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Niger on Saturday assured that its governorship candidate, Hajia Zulaihatu Iman would reposition the state on the path of greatness if elected into office.
The state party chairman, Alhaji Alfa Mohammed, gave the assurance in Minna when he `unveiled’ the party’s flag-bearers for next month’s elections.
“We are in this race to win and it is by your support that we can win the elections.

“You can be assure of good governance, free and qualitative education, improved security, integrated rural development, quality health care and special fund for the youths and women,’’ he said.
Mohammed said the party would field candidates in all the elective positions in the state, adding that there were 19 male and 7 female contestants for various elective positions in the state.
He said that SDP, at an expanded National Executive Council meeting on Thursday, resolved to set up a committee to advise its national chairman on whom to adopt as presidential candidate.
Also speaking, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, the running mate to Iman said that if elected their administration would establish a ceramic industry in the 25 local government areas in the state.
“We will set up ceramic industries because we have clay in abundance. Italy has over 200 ceramic industries though it imports clay as raw material from Macedonia,’’ he said. (NAN)
