LAGOS – The LAGBUS Asset Management Ltd, operators of LAGBUS metro buses in Lagos State, on Friday said it would sustain its operation, in spite on the challenge of fuel in the country.
The Managing Director of the company, Mr Babatunde Disu, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview in Lagos.
Disu said that the company had maintained its operations without any fare increase, in spite of the fuel scarcity that hit the country a few days ago.
“We have been maintaining our services, putting more buses on the road, to cater for the increased demand following the fuel scarcity.
“There have been improvements in the services we render to people and commuters can attest to this; we know what people are passing through, especially in Lagos.
“The conditions of ours buses have also been improved, to serve commuters better,’’ he said.
The managing director, however, urged the commuters to be patient and shun hanging on the buses because of pressure.
Disu further said that the company would fix all its buses to serve residents better in the year.
“We will buy better engines to replace the old ones and this, of course, will make the buses to be able to serve residents of Lagos better,’’ he said.
Disu, however, urged the residents to report any of its drivers found violating traffic regulations or driving recklessly to the company. (NAN)
