Plateau crisis: Soldiers patrol Jos City, arrest 21 persons, rescue 36 victims

JOS – The Special Military Task Force in Plateau State has assured citizens of their safety, saying it has dominated the metropolis, arrested 21 suspects and saved 36 persons from irate youths.

The taskforce spoke on Sunday in a statement signed by it’s spokesman, Major Ishaku Takwa, and made available to Sundiata Post in Jos.

According to the statement, “Troops have dominated Jos metropolis with robust patrols and surveillance to maintain law and order.

“Troops have also rescued a total of 36 victims of the attack. They are in a stable health condition while those hospitalized are responding to treatment.

“Equally, more arrests have been made in connection with the heinous act bringing the total of 21 suspects in custody.

“Security checkpoints have also been beefed up to enforce the curfew imposed on Jos North, Jos South and Bassa local government areas”, the statement says in part.
