The killings reportedly took place at different times and locations in the community.
A source close to the community said the OSPAC member was killed four hours after the son’s murder, fuelling suspicion the duo was killed by the same persons.
Rivers Police spokesman Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident but indicated the matter was being investigated though no arrest has been made.

He called on the security agents and governments to be alive to their responsibilities.
He appealed to the state government and the Executive Chairman of the council, Chidi Llyod as well as security agencies, especially the police to rise up to the occasion.
