Lagos- Mr Ayodele Akele, the Lagos State governorship candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP) in the forthcoming elections on Thursday promised to improve the living standard of the citizens, if elected.
Akele told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that he would focus attention on the provision of clean water, improving healthcare and easing the transportation problem in the state.
“There is a UN specification that says an average human being requires about 40 litres of water per day and for poor people it must be given freely.
“The NCP government in Lagos State will provide free water. I will be drinking from public tap in the governor’s office if I become the governor of Lagos State.

“I won’t be drinking bottled water. Health is another issue; Lagos State hospitals are unaffordable; they are already privatised; so the health sector needs thorough funding and good medical service for Lagosians.
“Apart from providing rail that will be conveying commuters, we are going to import more than 50,000 buses; we are going to have industrial estate in Epe; we are going to establish another one in Ikorodu and another one in Badagry.
“When there is job for our youths, there will be peace.“
Akele, who said that the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards had not been done properly, advised the Independent National Electoral Commission to rise up to its responsibility. (NAN)
