The Nigerian Police Force, Niger State Command, has urged parents to prevail on their wards to avoid any act of public disturbance during the Yuletide period to avoid facing the wrath of the law.
A statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, on Monday, in Minna warned that anyone causing public disturbance will be dealt with accordingly.
“The act of public disturbance will not be condoned as the Command will not hesitate to clamp down on any miscreant who may want to disrupt public peace,” the statement warned.
The statement said in view of the current security challenges bedevilling the state, there is a ban on the use of fireworks, knockouts, bangers and other explosive devices.
“The ban on the use of fireworks, knockouts, bangers and other explosive devices is still in force in the state,” the statement read.
It revealed that an operation order has been issued to Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and DPOs on security measures in their respective areas for peaceful conduct during the festivities.
