The Assistant Secretary General, Technical of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), James Peters has stated that the status of the Super Eagles chief coach, Stephen Keshi is far bigger than any member of the barrister Chris Green led NFF technical committee.
Peters explained that it is for this reason that the committee does not seem to enjoy much respect from the coach which he said had resulted to lots of running battles between the coach and them.
He stressed that the only way to redress the situation is to appoint credible members that are sound in football matters, whom the coach can learn and listen to into the technical committee.
“The board members must be very proactive when putting structures in place that would make the coach to respect their authority. This will begin by putting very respectable members in the technical committee, people that Keshi will listen to and respect.

Look at the current member of the technical committee, who among them can speak and Keshi will listen? There is none, which is why they have to appoint people like me or Amodu Shuibu who were once his coaches into the technical committee because when we speak he must listen,”
On the issue on whether Stephen Keshi should be retained or not, James Peters argued the best thing for the Nation football is to retain him so as to be able to finish the job he had started.
“I am of the opinion that he should be allowed to continue because that will be good for the team. The reason is that if you bring in somebody new now he will begin the rebuilding process which will take another period of time. So, he should be allowed to continue to finish what he has started,” he concluded. (Peoples Daily)
