MIDDLE EAST- Hakim Ziyech could be on his way out of Chelsea as the club are reportedly considering using him in a swap deal to sign Juventus midfielder, Adrien Rabiot.
It was expected that the Morrocan would be given another chance at Stamford Bridge when Graham Potter replaced Thomas Tuchel at the helm, but that has not been the case and he has stayed down the pecking order.
Sundiata Post recalls since Potter’s appointment, Ziyech has played 13 minutes of football, which came across two appearances from the bench against Red Bull Salzburg and Wolves.
However, he may be given another chance to help improve the Blues attack in their upcoming games, as the team has only managed to score once from open play in their last three games.
Chelsea is believed to be interested in signing Rabiot and the winger may be involved in discussions with Juventus, according to Calciomercato.
The French international was tipped to leave the Serie A side during the summer as he is in the last year of his contract, with Premier League side Manchester United tipped as the most likely destination.
However, a move to Old Trafford fell through as there was no agreement on the player’s salary. Despite the Italian giants struggling this season, Rabiot has been a bright spark as he has scored four goals in ten appearances in all competitions this season.
Even with the regular game time being given to him by current manager Massimiliano Allegri, it still seems unlikely that he will extend his current contract in Turin. This means that if Juve can not cash in on him in January they will risk losing the midfielder on a free transfer at the end of the season.
A unique solution has been suggested in the report as Chelsea co-owner and chairman Todd Boehly is believed to be ready to offer a part-exchange deal which would see Ziyech move in the opposite direction.
