CALABAR- The Cross River Government has expressed readiness to host the South South Zonal rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) women in Calabar on Saturday.
Dr Linda Ayade, wife of the Governor of Cross River, disclosed this on Wednesday in Calabar during an interaction with newsmen.
Ayade said that the zonal rally would be organised to drum support for Bola Tinubu, the APC Presidential Candidate.
She said that the women were expected to fill the U.J. Esuene 16,000 capacity sport stadium in Calabar.
According to her, the women are coming together to campaign for Tinubu because he is woman-friendly.
She noted that the voting strength of women have been proved in previous elections, hence the need to bring the women of the South-South together for the APC presidential candidate.
She assured the women that adequate security measures had been put in place to ensure a peaceful rally in Calabar.
“We want to put our voices together and shout our support for the APC presidential candidate of our great party, Tinubu.
“I want to announce that the entire South-South women will be in Calabar for this zonal rally on Nov. 26.
“It is the women that have the numbers and we are ready to canvass support for Tinubu.
“Our support is for Tinubu because he is women-friendly and we believe that women will be appointed into his cabinet and in other leadership positions if he wins,” he said. (NAN)
