Abuja (Sundiata Post) – President Bola Tinubu has finally nominated former Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong as Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Lalong made the supplementary list of Ministers amidst much speculations that President Tinubu will not appoint him Minister or give him any other appointment in his government despite the fact he was his Director General campaign, during the 2023 presidential elections.
There has been an in-house fighting between the immediate past Plateau Senator, Nora Daduut and Lalong on who Tinubu will appoint Minister.
Also some disgruntled Plateau Politicians have sponsored numerous articles suggesting that the former Governor should not be given a chance in Tinubu’s administration.
The speculations however came to an end on Wednesday evening when the news filtered the air that Lalong made the supplementary list of Ministers.
Confirming his nomination to newsmen in Jos, Wednesday, Media aid to the former Governor, Makut Macham said the announcement brought jubilation to Lalong’s residence in Abuja.
According to him: “It was jubilation galore at the residence of former Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong when the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio announced him as one of the Ministerial nominees submitted to the Senate on Wednesday 2nd August 2023 by President Bola Tinubu.
“Shortly after the announcement, family, friends, aides and associates came to congratulate the former Governor for his nomination which they said was well deserved.
“While commending President Tinubu for the nomination, they said Lalong is eminently qualified for the nomination having served Nigeria variously as Speaker, Plateau House of Assembly for 7 years, Governor for 8 years and Chairman Northern Governors Forum among others”, the statement reads.
