Group canvasses support for Ekweremadu, Ugwuanyi, Jonathan

Abuja- A political support group, “Enugu Without Borders’’, on Tuesday in Abuja urged eligible voters in Enugu state to cast their votes for Sen. Ike Ekweremadu in the forthcoming general elections.

The group’s President, Mr Ben Oshi, made the appeal on the occasion of the official endowment of the candidature of Ekweremadu, who is also the Deputy President of the Senate

Oshi said the group strongly remained in solidarity with the quest by Ekweremadu to secure another tenure of office as the Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial district.
He also urged eligible voters in the state to support Mr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to win the gubernatorial election in the state.

Oshi said both Ekweremadu and Ugwuanyi deserved the collective support and votes of Enugu people in the forthcoming elections “for them to continue their good works’’ for the state.

“These two indigenes have not only brought honour to Enugu state through their quality representation, but have also impacted positively on the infrastructure and economic transformation of our state.
“That Enugu state can now stand tall in the comity of states, and for the world to have taken note, is due to their steadfastness,’’ he said.

The group’s president also urged Nigerians to cast their vote for President Goodluck Jonathan to complete his transformation work in the country.

Oshi, however, urged all residents and indigenes of Enugu state to ensure they collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to enable them vote on the election days.(NAN)
