Senator David Umahi, Minister of Works, stated that Southeast Nigerians won’t unite in protesting Nigeria’s high living costs, citing President Bola Tinubu’s resolution of farmer-herder clashes.
Umahi emphasized that the region’s current challenges stem from self-inflicted issues, particularly actions by “unknown but known gunmen.”
He questioned the rationale for protesting when the President has addressed their major concern, highlighting the need to eliminate unknown gunmen for the Southeast to be secure.
Umahi urged against joining protests and suggested that removing the issue of unknown gunmen would ensure safety in the region for farmers.
