JOS (Sundiata Post) – The Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC), has reiterated the need for its personnel to take occupational safety serious at all times while at work.
In a statement on Saturday, Dr Elijah Adakole, JEDC’s Head, Corporate Communications, said that the company’s Managing Director (MD), Mr Abdu-Bello Mohammed, gave the charge, during a safety briefing to the company’s members of staff at the Tudun -Wada Regional Office.
Mohammed, explained that safety was not only applicable to the technical staff or safety officers, but a responsibility of every employee, as a means of attaining zero accidents.
The MD, who was represented by the company’s Head of Safety, Mr Alvinmax Yenkwo, called for a pragmatic approach by workers in safeguarding the lives of its customers, and as well as that of everyone, by preventing accidents on its network.
According to him, continuous safety education is imperative in safeguarding lives; and the guidelines are geared towards making the workplace safe and hazard free.
He therefore called on all staff members to endeavour to completely understand the safety rules and apply them when necessary. (NAN)
