Vice President Namadi Sambo has assured Brazilian investors that Nigeria is a virgin of opportunities.
A statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant, Malam Umar Sani in Abuja on Thursday said Sambo gave the assurance at the 4th Nigeria-Brazil Business and Investment Forum (NBBIF) held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Forum was part of activities of the Nigeria-Brazil Bi-National Commission Meeting.
Sambo, who stressed the need for partnership between the Nigerian and Brazilian business community, added that such partnership would promote economic development in the two countries.
He noted the long standing relations between the two countries, adding that the Nigerian business community was desirous of collaborating with their Brazilian counterparts for the mutual benefits of both countries.
“The Nigerian business community seeks partnership and collaborative ties with their Brazilian counterparts, a partnership which will foster greater cohesion among our private entrepreneurs and engender growth and economic development in our countries.’’

The statement also quoted the Vice President as expressing optimism that new business partnerships would evolve from the Forum, especially with the large turnout recorded at the event.
He urged the participants to come up with valuable recommendations that would improve the bilateral economic cooperation of both countries.
Sambo also urged the participants to come up with concrete suggestions that would impact positively on the mode of doing business with emphasis on inclusiveness of all stakeholders.
He assured the participants of attractive investment and business climate in Nigeria.
The Vice President said “Nigeria today is a virgin of opportunities. It is my wish that Brazilian businessmen will take bold steps to explore the Nigerian market, with a view to actively participating in it and vice-versa.’’
Earlier, the Director of the Brazil Pavilion, Pedro Wendler, had expressed great expectations from the signature that led to the creation of working groups for trade and investment between Nigeria and Brazil.
He said that the Brazilian government was happy with the progress made in the partnership between Andrede Guteres (AG), a Brazilian company and Dangote Group Plc in the areas of sanitation, transportation and public concessions.
He expressed the willingness of the Brazilian Agricultural Development Agency to facilitate the production of rice in Nigeria.
The statement further quoted the director as saying that ‘‘Brazilians are happy for Nigeria’s qualification to the World Cup, in view of the cultural, sports and cordial relations existing between our people.’’
