Makurdi, April 13, 2024 (NAN) The General Manager, Benue Links Nigeria Ltd., Mr Alexander Fanafa, says Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) has delisted the transport company from bad debtors list.
Fanafa disclosed this in an interview on Saturday in Makurdi.
Fanafa further said that the company had been on AMCON’s list of bad debtors for 12 years.
“AMCON has issued a letter of debt-free status to the company,” he said.
The general manager said that staff salaries are being paid as when due.
He said that the three months salary arrears of July, August and Septemeber 2015 owed staff, have been cleared.
He said he had constructed a standard box culvert and a water drainage channel flooding at the company’s headquarters and environs.
“Right now, we are working on mass concreting or flooring of the Bus Terminus. We are also erecting car porches.
“We have reactivated the fuel dump and commenced fuel sales within the park to ensure availability of fuel at all times, thereby reducing travel time.
“We have installed solar lights and electronic sign post which has led to improved lightning around the bus terminus,” he said.
He said that the company had reduced transport fare to ensure the provision of affordable transport services.
Fafana said that the gesture had forced other transporters in the state to reduce their fares too.
He said the company has also establish an Information Communication Technology (ICT) center to train members of staff in preparation for the commencement of online bookings.
He said the company has reopened inter and intra state routes that were closed and commenced operation from Makurdi to all the headquarters of the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
He said the company secured a permanent park in Adikpo, Kwande local government area of the state with a Certificate of Occupancy.
The manager said that the company also secured a permanent park in Abuja with the support of Gov. Hyacinth Alia. (NAN)
