The Mundubawa residence belonging to former Kano State Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, was engulfed by a fire on Sunday night, damaging the living quarters of his third wife, Halima Shekarau.
The fire, which originated in the kitchen of the house, erupted on Sunday evening, though the exact cause remains undetermined.
Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule, Media Adviser to Mallam Shekarau, confirmed the incident, noting that the fire was contained to one living room and promptly extinguished by the State Fire Service.
Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, spokesperson for the State Fire Service, verified the occurrence but refrained from elaborating on the cause, stating that investigations were ongoing to ensure the fire did not spread further.
