Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Plateau State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has elected new Chairman.
The election held on Friday in Jos, where Dr. Yilji Cashmir Kumtap emerged as Chairman.
Also, Dr Istifanus Bintum Bako emerged victorious as the Secretary of the State Chapter of the NMA .
Other officers that emerged victorious from the election are Dr Nansak Jacob Dashe the Public Relations Officer and Dr Susan Jahkim Garos as Treasurer.
Also, Dr John Okopi and Dr Elijah Asanarimam ,emerged as Vice Chairman and Financial Secretary respectively.
Speaking in his acceptance speech,Dr Kumtap said that NMA was a diverse and multifaceted community of healthcare professionals, with each bringing its unique talents, perspectives, and experiences to the table.
“There are no winners or vanquish in our association; only colleagues bound together by a common dedication to the health and well-being of our members and communities.
“It is only through unity and solidarity that we can overcome the challenges that lie ahead and continue to advance the cause of healthcare delivery in our beloved country,” he said.
He noted that regardless of the outcome of the election, every member has a vital role to play in shaping the future of the profession, association and health system.
He pledged to carry every one along in running the activities of the MMA in the state.
The outgone chairman Dr Williams Bapigaan Audu, appreciated members of the State Chapter for their support during his tenure as Chairman.
