Abuja (Sundiata Post) – An Igbo group in Plateau State, on Friday lauded Governor Caleb Mutfwang for appointing one of its own, an Igbo man who resides in the State, Hon. Felix O. Akpunku JP, as his Senior Special Adviser (SSA), on Igbo Community.
In a statement issued to journalists on Friday the group described the appointment of Akpunku as well deserved in view of his contribution to the people of the State and Nigeria in general.
The statement signed by the President of the group, Mr. Ben Anakwe, said with the wealth of experience of Akpunku both as former Supervisor for Agriculture and Natural Resources as well as former Supervisor for Primary Health Care in the State, they are confident that Akpunku will deliver by on the mandate given to him by the Governor.
The group thanked Mutfwang for always appointing people in his cabinet based on merit, stressing that the tribe’s man will not disappoint him.
“This is an appointment well deserved from the Governor’s political family, school of thoughts and philosophy in which Akpunku belongs.
They charged the new appointee to live up to expectations as he embarked on his new assignment, adding that his new appointment will enable him to always advise the Governor on matters that will bring prosperity to Ndi-igbo living in the State.
Our correspondent reports that Akpunku hails from Abia State, but has lived in Jos for the greater part of his life.
