Civil Society groups commend Bayelsa gov on infrastructure

A coalition of Civil Society Groups in Bayelsa State on Tuesday, rated high the administration of Governor Dickson on the implementation of state infrastructural development plan and reformation policies in the health and education sector of the state. The Civil Society groups, under the aegis of the Bayelsa Non-Governmental Organisation Forum (BANGOF), said the capital projects initiative of the state government is welcomed and should be supported.

The leaders of the Civil Society group, in a communique issued on Tuesday in Yenagoa at the end of the tour of State Government Projects under construction, said the projects inspected would impact positively on the lives of the people of the state.

The projects inspected by the members of the various Civil Society groups include the ongoing construction of a drug store, diagnostic centre and residential Quaters at Onopa, the construction of classroom, hostel and auditorium at St.Jude’s Girls Secondary schools, Amarata, construction of State Secretariat complex and few others.

The Communique, signed by the Chairman of the Bayelsa Non-Governmental Organisation Forum, Mr. Torki Dauseye, the National President of the Forum of Collective Ideas for Development (FOCID), the Secretary General of the Front Burner Democrats, Comrade Douye Prosper Figilo and the Director of Bayelsa Transformation Initiative Nigeria, Comrade Roland Suobi, stated that the efforts of the state government in its restoration drive towards transforming the state in terms of infrastructural development.
