Eligible residents and citizens of Edo State are out today to elect the man/woman to govern the affairs of the South-south State for the next four years.
SundiataPost reports that Edo State residents will vote to replace Governor Godwin Obaseki.
The major candidates in today’s gubernatorial election are: Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Monday Okpebholo and; Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata.
Seventeen candidates are vying for the governorship position, with sixteen men and one woman in the running.
They include:
1. Action Alliance, AA, – Tom Iseghohi
2. New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP – Azena Azemhe Friday
3. All Progressives Grand Alliance – Osifo Isiah
4. All Progressives Congress – Senator Monday Okpebholo
5. People’s Democratic Party – Asue Ighodalo
6. Labour Party – Olumide Akpata
7. All People Movement – Ugiagbe Sylvester
8. All Peoples Party – Areleogbe Osalumese
9. Action Democratic Party – Kingson Akhime Afere
10. African Action Congress – Udoh David
11. Zenith Labour Party – Akhalamhe Amiemenoghena
12. Boot Party – Osirame Edeipo
13. Accord Party – Bright Enabulele
14. African Democratic Congress – Osarenren Derek Izedonmwen
15. Peoples Redemption Party -Patience Key Ndidi
16. Young Progressive Party – Paul Okungbowa Ovbokhan
17. Social Democratic Party – Aner Abdullahi Aliu
About nine of the above-mentioned political parties have unanimously endorsed and collapsed their structure into the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
