Abuja (Sundiata Post) – A strong advocate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Plateau State, Amb. Nelson Samuel Shey has lauded the Plateau State General Manager (GM), Tourism Corporation, Hon. Chuwang Pwajok for unveiling a programme tagged “Jos Family Christmas Festival”, which is aimed at attracting visitors into the State during the yuletide season.
Nelson said the initiative will not only bring visitors to the State, but will also boost the economic potential of Plateau.
He said if ideas like this are birthed and implemented, it will consistently change the negative narrative of the State which most Nigerians have come to believe is crisis ridden.
Our correspondent had reported that the Plateau Tourism had on Monday unveiled a Christmas Festival for the yuletide season.
The GM, Chuwang had said during the festival visitors will have varieties of local products and services to take advantage of.
According to him: “This festival will drive tourist traffic to Plateau, allowing visitors to experience our unique landscape, rich culture, and hospitality.
“Instead of brief stops, we’re creating immersive experiences where visitors can connect with our people, culture, and environment.
“The goal is to establish Jos as a holiday hotspot, bringing economic growth and supporting local businesses”, he said.
However, excited by the initiative, Nelson added that the step taken will also promote Plateau artists and showcase them to the world.
“This is an opportunity for global recognition of our arts, culture, and people,” he said.
