IBADAN (Sundiata Post) – Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State appears to be warming up in readiness to contest the 2027 presidential election against incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Makinde’s supporters have already begun rallying behind him, using the hashtag #MakindeForPresident to promote his candidacy.
At the moment, the governor is hosting PDP press corps members in Ibadan, where he is showcasing his projects in the southwest states.
Interestingly, the official social media handles of the PDP have been using the hashtag #MakindeForPresident while posting photos and videos of the signature projects.
Makinde has since positioned himself as a strong contender for the presidency in the main opposition party and the launch of the hashtag suggests the campaign for the Oyo governor’s presidential bid has officially kicked off.
The governor who’s serving his second term as Oyo State governor is a member of the G-5 that vehemently worked against their presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 general election.
