President Bola Tinubu has promoted Olufemi Oluyede, who is currently serving as the acting Chief of Army Staff, to the rank of Lieutenant General. Sources at the Presidential Villa confirmed the promotion on Tuesday.
This move has sparked speculation that Oluyede may soon be named the permanent head of the Nigerian Army. Previously holding the rank of Major General, Oluyede was recently appointed as the acting army chief due to the health issues of former Army Chief Taoreed Lagbaja.
