Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The US economy has been named a top issue in the 2024 election with voters citing concerns about inflation and high prices.
Donald Trump regularly said he created the “greatest economy in the history of our country” during his campaign and the Biden-Harris administration ruined it.
Inflation rose significantly during the first two years of the Biden administration – hitting a peak of 9.1% in June 2022.
Chief presenter Anna Botting has spoken to residents in the swing state of Philadelphia to find out if they felt let down by Biden on the economy.
“Inflation impacts everybody,” one chef says. “Being a Democratic city, in Philadelphia, I think we expected more from the previous president [Biden].
“We tried to see if we would go another four years, but it was not possible.”
