Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has appointed Gani Audu as his new Chief of Staff, which aims to enhance the state’s governance and reform agenda.
The Secretary to the State Government, Musa Umar Ikhilor, announced the appointment, which takes immediate effect.
Audu, born on August 18, 1969, brings a wealth of experience to the position. He holds an HND from Auchi Polytechnic, a PGD in Business Administration from Benson Idahosa University, and an M.Sc. in Intelligence and Global Security from Baze University, Abuja, which he completed in 2024.
Ikhilor highlighted that Audu’s extensive background, including his leadership as Chairman of the Etsako West Local Government Council from 2004 to 2010 and his tenure as a member of the Edo State House of Assembly from 2015 to 2023, will be instrumental in driving the Governor’s reform initiatives.
“Audu’s appointment is a strategic move to support the Governor in executing meaningful reforms that will benefit the people of Edo State,” the statement read.
With his experience in local government and the state legislature, Audu is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Edo State under Okpebholo’s administration.
