OSOGBO- Gov. Ademola Adeleke has emphasised the crucial role of Nigeria’s civil service in the nation’s development, stating that it remained central to national unity, progress, and prosperity.
Adeleke made this statement during the annual end-of-year party of the National Forum of Heads of Federal Government Establishments in Nigeria (NAFOHEADS), Osun State Chapter, held on Thursday in Osogbo.
He was represented by Mr Sunday Fadele, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Capital Development, Osun State.
The governor underscored the importance of the civil service in driving the state’s growth.
“The civil service holds the key to Nigeria’s success as a nation. It remains a strong core of national unity, progress, and prosperity,” he said.
He further acknowledged the indispensable contributions of public servants in upholding government functions, saying, “In my daily interactions with the civil service, I can confirm that you are the genuine builders of the nation.”
Adeleke also recognised the civil service for strengthening unity across the country.
“The public service has a pool of men and women representing Nigeria in every area,” he added.
The governor commended the civil service’s efforts in advancing the growth and development of Osun State.
“We appreciate your contributions to the growth and development of the state,” he stated.
Additionally, Adeleke revealed that he recently submitted a list of abandoned projects in the state to the presidency, highlighting the need to complete the federal secretariat project.
