…..I saluted Gov Fubara, Wike, because I am in their land – Sowunmi

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Otumba Segun Sowunmi, the Convener of the National Movement Coalition (NOMC), codenamed “The Alternative” has debunked the claims made by an Opera News Hub Creator, Collinskofor, who alleged that Showunmi said that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike is a divisive figure.
The writer, according to our correspondent, also painted a picture of Sowunmi praising Wike for the sake of attracting favour from him.
According to Collinskofor, “The FCT Minister is Wike. Sowunmi claims that Wike’s star has grown to the point where the mere mention of his name starts talks among Nigerians all over the world.
“On a global scale, this is true as well as within Nigeria. Sowunmi brought attention to Wike’s impact on Nigeria’s politics”, he continued.
“Because of the wide range of opinions expressed about him, Wike has become a divisive figure. Consequently, he has become an important topic of conversation among all political factions in Nigeria”, Collinskofor said in part.
However, responding to the Opera Hub Creator, Sowunmi said he only greeted the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Wike because he was in their State for a function.
He said it is customary to recognise the political figures and traditional rulers in a State whenever you are in the State to hold a function, especially when it is a political function.
According to Sowunmi as captured in his speech during a Town Hall gathering held in Port Harcourt last Thursday, he said: “Before I continue, I greet the Governor of Rivers State, Fubara and I also through him, greet one of your most recognised citizen that anywhere you go in the world today, if there are Nigerians there, they will ask you about this man. Even if it is for nothing, but for the fact he is your son, and I am in his land, former governor Wike, I greet you”, he said.
This is in contrast with what the Opera News hub creator reported, our correspondent said.
Sowunmi was in Port Harcourt last week in continuation of his tour to the six geopolitical zones of the country to sensitize Nigerians on how to make a choice of a credible leader in the 2027 general elections.
This, he is doing, using the platform tagged: “The Alternative”, our correspondent reports.
