ABUJA – The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDP has passed vote of confidence on President Goodluck Jonathan.
This is contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the 65th NEC meeting of the party in Abuja on Thursday.
The communiqué, signed by the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Mr Olisa Metuh, said NEC particularly praised Jonathan for the decisive steps so far taken to contain insurgency in the country.
“In keeping with the resolution to return the party to the people, NEC laid emphasis on the slogan of the PDP which is “power to the people”, the communiqué said.
It advised all party members to note this at all the party`s events nationwide.
The NEC meeting was the first to be presided over by the party`s National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu`azu since he assumed office in January.
The meeting was attended by President Goodluck Jonathan, the Vice President, Senate President, members of the National Assembly, state Governors and other chieftains of the party. (NAN)
