Lagos, – An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded in prison custody two men, who allegedly broke into a house and robbed the occupants at gunpoint.
The Magistrate, Mrs Abimbola Komolafe, ordered that the accused, Ifeanyichukwu Okafor, 31, and Joshua Ofor, 26, should be remanded in prison pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP)
The prosecutor, ASP Eranus Nnamonu had earlier told the court that the duo committed the offences on Jan. 21 at 1.20 a.m.
He said the unemployed men, who reside at No. 9, Yusuf Mutiyat St., Ikotun, a Lagos suburb, broke into the home of Mrs Charity Olanrewaju at Maryland Estate and dispossessed her of her property at gunpoint.

“The accused,who were armed with local guns, cutlasses and dangerous objects,
harassed and manhandled the complainant and the other occupants of the house.
“They collected N178,000 cash,” Nnamonu said.
“The men were apprehended within the estate following a tip-off.’’
Nnamonu noted that the offences contravened Section 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, Laws of the Federation.
Further hearing in the case has been fixed for June 6.(NAN)
