Fayose, Ekiti people commend Buhari on his inaugural speech

ADO-EKITI – Gov. Ayo Fayose, of Ekiti State, and a cross-section of Ekiti people, on Saturday commended President Muhammadu Buhari, on the peaceful tone of his inaugural speech.
The respondents, who cut across religion and political divide told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the address showed that the new president was a complete democrat.
Fayose said that he was moved by the president’s speech, adding that it was capable of selling him to the outside world as a man who would unite rather than divide the country.
He advised the president not to allow his name to be used by anybody to oppress the opposition in any part of the country.
According to him, Buhari should keep to his promise not to be for anybody but for everybody.
The former Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Femi Bamisile asked the president to assemble men of unblemished characters that would work with him.
According to him, if Buhari must fulfil his promises to Nigerians, he must endeavour to assemble men of good character to do this.
Bamisile said that Buhari must use his position to build a just and equitable Nigeria.
He advised him not to discriminate against anybody either because of his or her tribe, religion or political belief.
Pastor Kayode Adegoke, of the Living God Assembly, Ado-Ekiti challenged Buhari to keep his pledge not to settle old scores with anybody or group.
Adegoke said that he should also make God his best confidant and consult on matters relating to national affairs before taking steps on them.
Chief Deji Fasuan, the Chairman Committee for the Creation of Ekiti State, an octogenarian, called on the president to live up to his promise to eliminate corruption and instil discipline.
He said that Buhari should also ensure early release of over 250 Chibok girls as he promised Nigerians.
He said that Buhari should follow this up by promoting regional military cooperation that would ultimately salvage the country from all forms of insurgency.
He urged him to confront the challenges of under-development as well as economic deprivation currently facing the country.

However, all the respondents were unanimous that Buhari was capable of uniting the entire country, while urging him to endeavour to fulfil all the promises he made to Nigerians. (NAN)
