LAFIA – The Catholic Bishop of Lafia, Dr Mathew Ishaya, on Saturday called on Nigerians to give the much-needed support for President Muhamadu Buhari’s administration.
He said such support to the new government and political leaders would ensure its success.
Ishaya, who made the call in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia, said no government could achieve any meaningful development and progress without the support and prayers of its citizenry.
He said: “Our role is to preach peace, unity and to advise our members and other Nigerians to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliations.
“This is for the benefit of all; peace is priceless and non-negotiable and no nation or society can develop in an atmosphere of rancour and confusion.

“If people will see each other as brothers and sisters, love their neighbours as themselves and respect constituted authorities, then the security challenges facing the country will be a thing of the past.
“This will make the country to achieve speedy development.’’
Ishaya also called on the people not to relent in their prayers for the success of the new government and reminded them that “prayer is key to the success of every individual or government.’’
The cleric urged Buhari and other leaders to lead Nigerians righteously and with the fear of God in the interest of peace and national development.
On the need for peace and harmony in Nasarawa, Ishaya appealed to the people to embrace and live in peace always and also tolerate one another irrespective of their differences. (NAN)
