KANO – The Kano State Government on Saturday in Kano advised motorists going to the state from Jos to divert to Kwanar Dangora through Rahama roundabout.
The Commissioner for Water Resources, Dr Yunusa DanGwani, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the diversion became necessary because of the near collapse of Bagauda Bridge.
He said that the heavy rain that fell on Friday seriously affected the bridge which he said could collapse at any time
The commissioner visited Bagauda dam on Saturday following report of the flood.

“Instead of following Tiga road, motorists coming from Jos should pass through Kwanar Dangora (Old Jos road) in order to avoid possible loss of lives and property.’’
He explained that following the downpour, Bagauda dam was full to capacity, pointing out that flood submerged the entire area leading to the destruction of some portions of the road.
He, however, said that the state government had dispatched experts from the Ministry of Works to assess the damage done to the bridge by the flood. (NAN)
