My election is in order – Rep. Kamale tells Tribunal

Abuja  -Rep. Adamu Kamale (PDP- Madagali‎/Michika, Adamawa), said at the Legislative Election Petitions Tribunal for Adamawa that he was qualified to contest the March 28 election into the House of Representatives.

Kamale stated this while testifying before the Justice Anthony Onovo-led tribunal in Abuja on Thursday.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the election, Mr Umar Duhu, sued Kamale at the Tribunal, saying he was not qualified to contest the elections.

Kamale said he met the criteria for contesting the election and was rightfully declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Led in evidence by his counsel, Mr Leonard Nzadong, the lawmaker said he was duly cleared by his party, the PDP and given a Certificate of Clearance.
He also told the tribunal that a Certificate of Return was issued to him by INEC after winning the election.

Onovo adjourned the case till July 29 for counsel to both the petitioner and the respondents to file their final documents. (NAN)
