Bosso, (Niger)-The Niger Government says the construction of the 1.1 kilometre Lawu road project, awarded at N50 million in July this year, will be completed in eight weeks.
The state’s Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ketso, spoke on Saturday after an inspection of the project in Bosso.
“The Lawu road project, which is expected to be completed in eight weeks, will cost the government the sum of N50 million,’’ he said.
Ketso said that the government would accord priority to construction of roads, to promote the socio-economic development of the people of the state.
“Efforts will be intensified to complete all ongoing road projects within the state,’’ he said.
Kawu said the present administration was considering construction of new roads that would open more towns and villages as soon as the financial status of the state improved.
The deputy governor urged the people of the state to always guard government properties against vandalism, to enable government provide more dividends of democracy for them. (NAN)
