NFF SACKS ELECTORAL COMMITTEE TODAY

The Electoral committee constituted to conduct elections into the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) may be dissolved today by the Executive Committee of the body. It was gathered last night that the Chief Mike Umeh-led NFF Executive Committee intends to sack the electoral committee to create a level playing ground for all contestants. The sack will bring to three the number of electoral committees set up to conduct the 2014 elections which have been trailed by controversies following the crisis rocking the federation.[eap_ad_2] A dependable source told our correspondent last night that the NFF leadership is worried over the controversy surrounding the electoral committee and feels that for it to have a free and fair election, the present committee must give way. “I understand there are crisis concerning the elections into the board of the NFF and I must tell you that the NFF executive will do away with the electoral committee on ground now and constitute a new one to allow for free and fair elections come August 26,” the source hinted. Elections into the board of the federation was earlier planned to hold in Warri but moved to Abuja by the new leadership of the Federation, just as some members of the electoral committee were replaced and the chairman dropped.
